Each person is unique as well as their experiences. We all have different thoughts, feelings, and needs. The same concept applies to therapy. We tailor therapy to our clients and their needs. Each therapist has a different specialty and treatment approach to help guide you through the therapy process. Our therapists help you to identify and explore the underlying issue all while learning new ways to cope with a healthier thought process. Read below to learn more about our specialties and how we can support you to achieve your goals.

Anxiety and Depression

Are you stressed about work? Worried people are judging you? Experiencing racing thoughts? Lack of motivation? Feelings of sadness because you missed out on the fun things in your life because of feeling sad or anxious? These are common symptoms of anxiety and depression. These symptoms can be debilitating and downright frustrating. Others may find it hard it to understand, but we are here for you at Heights Anxiety and Depression Center. Our clinicians are trained to help you challenge these thoughts and learn new ways to manage the symptoms. We know that through therapy you can learn the skills to recover and live a happier, healthier life.

Everyone processes trauma differently, and there is no right or wrong way to experience this. It could be a car accident that happened 5 years ago, abuse as a child, or even a break up that happened last week. Our clinicians understand trauma is something that affects everyone in a different way and can cause symptoms ranging from depression, anxiety, and flashbacks. Here we use a variety of techniques to help ground you so that you are able to process these experiences. Some of the clinicians specialize in EMDR as a technique to assist with trauma. Ultimately we want to help guide you to a healing state so that you can move forward with your life and find the peace you are looking for.

Anger Management

Feel like you are constantly snapping at people? People tell you that you have a temper? Ashamed of your behaviors when mad? We are here to help. There is no judgment from our clinicians as they listen to your story. Therapy helps you identify triggers and learn appropriate ways to respond. We also help you find the underlying emotion that causes anger and work on resolving that issue to decease overall anger. You will learn the skills to navigate future stressful and triggering situations with success.

Mood Disorders

Does your mood fluctuate? Are you really happy and then super down? It is hard for people to understand when your mood changes so quickly? Let us help you stabilize your mood. Our clinicians can teach techniques to assist with emotion regulation. They help you start to see the signs when your mood is changing so that you can intervene before it gets out of hand. We want to support you to regulate your life and not your emotions taking the lead.

Perinatal Mental Health

Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders affect women during pregnancy and postpartum and are the number one complication of childbirth. Fortunately, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders are highly treatable with individual psychotherapy.

Are you experiencing feelings of guilt, hopelessness and shame as a new parent? Are you struggling with debilitating anxiety and/or depression that are clouding your experience with your baby? Many new moms (and partners!) struggle with the transition to parenthood and could use some extra support.

If you have concerns about your functioning as a new or expecting mom, please contact our clinic. Our staff can work with you to come up with an individualized treatment plan to help you feel more secure and supported during this time.
