I am a licensed professional counselor-supervisor, national certified counselor, national certified school counselor in the state of Texas. Also, I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Louisiana.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Southern University, Master’s degree in Counseling from Southern University, and a Doctorate in Counseling from the University of New Orleans. I received additional training in Family Mediation from Loyola Law School. Also, I have been trained in Trauma for Adolescents and Adults.
My passion is helping families, individuals, children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly rebuild their lives and relationships by overcoming struggles in life. This is done by creating a safe, warm, non-judgmental atmosphere to explore important issues.
I utilize clinical skills to empower and improve the mental/emotional wellbeing so they can live more productive lives. My specialties and interest are stress/anxiety, parenting, depression, trauma, self-esteem, women issues, family conflicts, anger management, bullying ADHD, aging issues and peer pressure. I use a variety of research-based treatment modalities to help my client’s need. However, my theories of choice include: Client-centered, Solution-focused, Cognitive behavior and Brief therapy.
My experience is 25+ years as a counselor, supervisor, adjunct professor in the field. Additionally, I saw individuals impacted by Hurricanes Katrina and Harvey
It is my goal to reduce the negative stigma that surrounds mental health. Everyone should have the opportunity to live their best life
